MP International specialises in organising exhibitions, conferences and special events for various industries and interest groups. To date, the group has organised and managed more than 250 national, regional and international events. MP's success with various partners is a testimony of its ability to identify opportunities and maximise the rewards for win-win partnerships. This has won MP the distinction of being the only homegrown exhibition and conference organiser to receive the Enterprise 50 award for two consecutive years, in 2001 and 2002.

Moving forward, MP is committed to support fellow industry players through its association with the World Events Organisation (WEO). It is a founding partner of WEO, a regional network of professional event organisers. It is also a member of the PICO group.

Singapore is the host for Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) meetings in 2009. The series of meetings throughout the year will culminate in the APEC Leaders Week, where Leaders of APEC's 21 member economies will meet at Suntec Singapore and the Istana from 8 to 15 November 2009.

MP Asia has been appointed by International Enterprise Singapore to handle the meetings during the Leaders Week and will also manage the APEC Senior Officials Meeting (SOM) II and Meeting of Ministers Responsible for Trade which will take place from 15 to 22 July at the Shangri-La Hotel.

This latest award of key meetings is in addition to MP Asia's earlier appointments from the Singapore Ministry of Transport and Ministry of Community Development, Youth and Sports of Singapore and Singapore Council of Women's Organisations, for their respective APEC meetings to be held in July and August.

Said Ms Sylvia Phua, CEO, MP International, "Although we have organised a number of mega exhibitions and meetings over the years, we are thrilled to be part of the organising team for the APEC meetings. It is a great honour and we have put in place dedicated teams to deliver a memorable event for all participants."

The MP group is extending its footprint into the Korean market with a new project joint venture. In April, MP Asia sealed a partnership with sports and travel events specialist, RGSG Pte Ltd, to launch a travel show in Seoul, Let's Go! Travel 2009.

This consumer show will be held at KINTEX, Seoul, Korea, from 6 to 8 November 2009. The show is expected to span 5,000sqm and attract some 100,000 visitors.

National tourism bodies from around the region are expected to take advantage of this showcase to present their attractions to Korean travellers while Korean outbound travel agents will be using this show as a platform to take bookings for their travel packages.
