Bloomberg New Economy Forum
(6 – 7 November 2018)

Against the backdrop of growing China-US trade frictions and scheduling conflicts with the highly significant China International Import Expo, Bloomberg decided to move the inaugural New Economy Forum in Singapore because of its position as one of the world’s leading international and business hubs. The event, hosted by billionaire Michael Bloomberg, brought together about 400 global leaders from the private and public sectors to address the opportunities and challenges created by a growing shift in wealth and power to the rising economies and search for practical solutions to the current challenges in areas from trade to climate change and finance.

With 5 weeks to prepare for this high, profile, by-invitation event, MP worked closely with multiple stakeholders to ensure that delegates were presented with an authentic Singapore evening at the Clifford Pier that also met diplomatic protocols and security requirements.

MP Singapore was appointed to manage the Gala Dinner hosted by the supporting agencies of the Singapore Summit – the Singapore Economic Development Board, GIC, the Monetary Authority of Singapore, and Temasek. With 5 weeks to prepare for this high, profile, by-invitation event, MP worked closely with multiple stakeholders to ensure that delegates were presented with an authentic Singapore evening at the Clifford Pier that also met diplomatic protocols and security requirements. The dinner also featured a dialogue session with PM Lee.

Besides featuring a dialogue session with Singapore’s Prime Minister Mr Lee Hsien Loong, the chefs behind two local Michelin-starred restaurants – Candlenut and New Ubin Seafood, were brought in to design dishes that epitomise the Singapore spirit of being innovative whilst keeping with traditions. A dance performance by Sri Warisan wrapped up the evening.
